Landrum jumped to a 41-23 halftime lead over the Chesnee Eagles on their way to a 65-48 win.
Trey Smith led the Cardinals with a game high 30 points and he scored 20 of those in the first half to help the Cardinals get a 18 point halftime lead. Jason Lane was also in double figures for the Cardinals as he finished with 10 points. Connor Harmon also had a nice night for the Cardinals as he finished with 9 points. Alijah Means had a big night for Eagles as he finished with 20 points. Means scored 11 of his points in the second half as the Eagles tried to make a run at the Cardinals. Means also stepped up in the absent of Dez Tate. Chesnee Head Coach Andy Pitt was pleased with his Sophomore forward's performance, "Alijah is going to be a heck of a talent, he has got a lot of potential if he continues to work and grow. We have a good solid group of young players we just have to continue to work no matter the outcome." Pitt said Ahmad Smith also had a nice night for the Eagles as he finished with 12 points and had several nice blocks on the defensive end. Girls Game The Landrum Lady Cardinals jumped out to a 13-2 lead after the first quarter and never looked back on their way to a 56-30 win over the Chesnee Lady Eagles. The Lady Eagles battled back in the the 2nd half as they outscored the Lady Cardinals 14-8 in the 4th quarter. Chesnee Head Coach Carey Burns was pleased with her teams fight in the second half, "it was nice to see the girls bounce back in the 2nd half and come out of the game with some positive momentum." Burns said. Lindsey Hardin lead the Lady Cardinals with a game high 21 points for the SCBCA top 5 2A senior. Bailey Butler and Sarah Harris also ended up with double figures as Butler scored 12 points and Harris added 10 points. Sierra Bowen lead the Lady Eagles with 11 points.
