Facing a 3-2 deficit heading into the bottom of the tenth inning, the Chesnee Lady Eagles rallied at home against the Abbeville Lady Panthers on Friday Night. Sierra Bowen delivered a game-winning single with two outs to seal the 4-3 victory for the Lady Eagles. The Lady Eagles advance to the next round where they will host Cheraw on Saturday at 6pm. Abbeville will travel to Gray Collegiate on Saturday in an elimination game.
Abbeville’s Reghan Steifle hit an RBI single in the first inning and pitched a complete game. She struck out eight batters and gave up five hits across ten innings of work, while walking four batters. Kaleigh Lollis finished 2-5 at the plate for Abbeville with two singles and one run scored. Paige Scruggs pitched a complete game for the Lady Eagles, picking up the win. She struck out four batters and walked only one. She also had a single at the plate. Sam Carver finished 2-5 with a single, a double, and an RBI. She delivered the game-tying RBI double in the bottom of the tenth inning and would go on to score the game-winning run. Sierra Bowen finished 2-4 with two singles and a walk. She finished the night with two RBI and delivered the game-winning hit for the Eagles in the bottom of the tenth to send them to the next round.
