GREENVILLE, SC - The Chapman girls' golf team made the short trek into Greenville County on Wednesday and came away with a victory over Wade Hampton at the Pebble Creek Country Club.
The Panthers defeated the Generals by 15 shots in the nine-hole match as Chapman shot the low score of 201 as a team for their first victory of the young season. Chapman golfer Adeline Todd led the field with a match low score of 41 to win the medalist honors as teammate Samantha Ireland just five shots back with a score of 46. Lady Panthers head coach Andy Pitt was happy with his team's performance as he continues to see his team improve in each outing. "I was really proud of the team as Adeline set the tone for us and was really solid," said Pitt. "Samantha Ireland played her best nine holes of golf of the year to this point. I can see the confidence building with the girls. We still have a ways to go, but it's encouraging to see their work pay off." The Panthers will be back in action on Thursday as they travel to the Green Valley Country Club to take on Traveler's Rest High School at 4:15 PM as they try to make it two wins in a row for the team.
