INMAN, SC - On Thursday the Chapman girls' golf team thanked three seniors for their contributions to the program and celebrated them teeing off at Village Green for the last time as members of the Panthers team.
Chapman celebrated three seniors as they thanked Savannah Burris, Alexis Rowland, and Annabelle Blackwood for their careers with the Panthers. They also got to celebrate a victory as the Panthers defeated fellow region school Landrum 185 to 227. The Panthers were led by Samantha Ireland who won the medalist honors in the match after firing a score of 42 at the course. She was one of four Panthers to shoot in the 40's on Thursday as Annabelle Blackwood (46), Savannah Burris (48), and Adeline Todd all joined Ireland with a score in the 40's which head coach Andy Pitt is happy to see from his team as they approach the postseason. "I'm proud of the girls today," said Pitt. "We put four scores in the 40's for the first time this season. We are rounding into shape heading into the region tournament. I'm proud to see Samantha break through with her first medalist performance. Our play today should give our team a confidence boost heading into the postseason." Chapman will next be back in action on Monday when they compete in the region tournament at the Cherokee Valley Golf Course in Traveler's Rest, SC. Comments are closed.
